a day to remember

I’ve always believed that photography is more than just capturing moments—it’s about telling stories. So when Kelley and Jen Crume reached out in the summer of 2024, asking me to photograph their intimate backyard wedding, I knew this was going to be something special.

“We love your work,” Jen said over the phone, excitement in her voice. “We’re having a traditional Indian ceremony, just close friends and family. We want someone who can really capture the feeling of the day.”

On the big day, I arrived to find the backyard transformed into a vibrant dream—marigold garlands draped from trees, flickering diyas lining the pathways, and the scent of fresh jasmine in the air. Kelley, dressed in a stunning sherwani, stood in awe as Jen made her entrance in a deep red and gold saree, her hands adorned with intricate henna.

Moving through the crowd, I blended in, snapping the quiet moments—the proud tears in a parent’s eyes, the laughter between friends, the way Kelley and Jen’s hands found each other effortlessly. As the sun dipped, casting a golden glow over their vows, I knew I was preserving something timeless.

When the night ended, and the couple thanked me warmly, I smiled, knowing this was more than just another wedding shoot. It was a love story I had the honor of telling, one frame at a time.
