a sweet success

It started with a simple email from Jenifer Dabs, the owner of My Favorite Cookies. She had seen my photography work and needed professional shots of her homemade cookies for a website she was building. “I want the photos to feel as warm and inviting as the cookies themselves,” she wrote. That was all I needed to hear—I was in.
When I arrived at her kitchen, the smell of fresh-baked cookies filled the air. Trays of golden chocolate chip, delicate shortbread, and perfectly iced sugar cookies lined the counters. Jenifer’s passion for baking was obvious in every detail, from the way she carefully arranged each cookie to the handwritten recipe cards scattered around.
I set up my camera and lighting, aiming to capture not just the cookies but the feeling behind them—the homemade charm, the nostalgia, the kind of treat that made you feel at home. Close-ups of melting chocolate chips, stacks of perfectly golden cookies, and even a few process shots of Jenifer at work—all of it came together beautifully.
After the shoot, Jenifer mentioned she was struggling to put together a website that truly reflected her brand. I offered to help, making sure the site was clean, warm, and inviting, just like her cookies. Using my photos, we built a site that showcased not only her menu but the heart behind My Favorite Cookies.
A few weeks later, she sent me a message: “The website is perfect. The photos made all the difference. Thank you for helping bring my vision to life.”
I smiled, knowing this was more than just another gig. It was about helping someone share their passion with the world—one cookie at a time.
